Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs):
The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Act, 2006 makes it mandatory to have one Juvenile Justice Board in each district to deal with matters relating to juveniles in conflict with law. To facilitate setting up of a JJB in each district and to ensure their effective functioning, the scheme shall provide adequate infrastructure and financial support to State Governments and UT Administrations.
Juvenile Justice Board consists of :
Chairperson -> M.M. or Judicial M. of the 1st class & Members (Two)-> Social Workers- At least one woman.
In our district the committee sits Monday to Friday2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
